MagnetGuard V2 - General installation issues

General installation issues
Common noise sources
- - moving objects containing metal (sliding doors, elevators, cash machines, payment terminals, trolleys etc.)
- - smartphones and tablets nearby (especially with magnetic covers)
- - magnetic locks and clips (often used in bags)
- - railway, trams or busy roads with heavy traffic situated very close to the shop
Installation guidelines for optimum performance
- - Check the installation area for possible noise sources prior to installation.
- - Avoid any metal objects mentioned above.
- - Locate the central unit in a visible place for the shop/security staff. The distance between central unit and sensors should be less then 50 meters (depends on radio interference).
- - Choose a location for the microprocessor magnetic field sensors on a non-metallic surfaces and fix them at a height of about 1 - 1,3 meter using double-sided tape.
- - We recommend to use only one sensor pro fitting room if it is not wider than one meter.
- - Although the default settings of the sensors should work fine in most situations, it can be necessary to fine-tune the sensors for best performance in your specific environment (sensitivity and criteria adjustment).
- - Try to keep the sensor sensitivity as low as possible in order to avoid false alarms.
- - It is not necessary to get an alarm immediately during entering the fitting room as the detacher can be hidden and carried into the fitting room far away from the sensor. Alarm will be activated as soon as the thief will start to operate with the detacher to remove the hard tags - make adequate tests.
- - Don't transport the sensors with battery inside. The sensors will try to send information to the unplugged central unit permanently and will drain the battery. It is better to insert the battery directly before the installation.
